Volunteer with Students

There are many opportunities to volunteer with the Roots Student Ministry at Alpharetta Methodist. Volunteers are at the core of what we do. The Roots student community is built around the biblical model of multiplying ministry. To be in full-on ministry to a large student community takes many hands and hearts. Our Student Ministry Team works to help people find their place of calling and then to train and equip them for ministry.

We provide areas of long-term commitment, but there are also areas where you can “test the waters” as you look to serve. Because we know that there is no “one size fits all,” we make it easy to experiment through short-term, event-driven roles. Remember — no worries — we provide excellent training in every area of Student Ministry support. For an overview of each area of Student Ministry, please see the Weekly Activities page.

Background Checks and Security Policy

To ensure the safety of both students and adult volunteers, church policy requires that everyone serving with students complete Child/Youth Protection Training, which includes a training session and a background check. The session takes about an hour.

We’re excited to have you serve with us, and we promise to help you find your place of calling. So relax… Come and check out serving in Student Ministry. Our community needs you.
