Backpacks of Love

The Backpacks of Love ministry delivers backpacks full of non-perishable food and needed items to homeless and at risk children and their families in Forsyth and North Fulton counties. The ministry serves:

  • 17 area schools
  • Jesse’s House in Forsyth County
  • An emergency shelter for adolescent women in Forsyth County

Volunteers commit to filling a backpack and dropping the off at the church every other week during the school year. The focus is to deliver non-perishable food that is nutritional and packed with protein:

  • Peanut butter
  • Canned meats, stews, rice and beans, etc.
  • Single-serve, microwaveable containers (macaroni and cheese, Beefaroni, and chicken and rice, etc.)

For more information and to volunteer, contact Backpacks of Love Coordinator Jim Bass.
