Worship Ministries

We invite you to minister to our congregation during worship by participating in one of these important ministries.

6N8A6186-3699569803-O, Alpharetta Methodist, Worship MinistriesThe word acolyte is taken from an ancient Greek word meaning companion, attendant or helper. Acolytes work closely to assist the pastors during traditional worship services. They light and extinguish the candles on the altar and assist with baptisms.

Boys and girls in 4th through 12th grade are invited to participate in this important ministry. For more information, Congregational Care Associate Pastor Rev. Terri Henkel.

Men and women volunteer to usher during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. traditional worship services, greeting people and helping them to find seats in the sanctuary, receiving the offerings and assisting the church staff as needed.

The Board of Ushers divides the service calendar year into three 4-month periods, during which each usher commits to serve 1 of the 4 months. Annual dues of $30 cover many items including breakfast meetings and boutonnieres.
