Daily Dose, Nov 24 — A Psalm for Thanksgiving

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you. The Lord is God, and he has made his light shine on us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar. You are my God, and I will praise you; you are my God, and I will exalt you. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (Psalm 118:26-29) Have you been outside lately? Looking around at the trees, many are losing their leaves as fall is here in full force. Have you noticed the beauty of the season, of all His hands created? Everywhere we look, we see His creation in its splendor. Even as we watch seasons unfold, we see the perfection of His plan year after year. Look at your own life; do you see where His hand has been at work?  How He has brought new life. How He has made His light shine in you. The psalmist invites those who have reason to be thankful to join in the procession and head to the altar of the Lord and as we make our way lift our hearts and voices saying, “You are my God and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you.” We join the procession because “the Lord is good; his love endures forever.”  As we praise His we praise him for who he is, for all He has done.  We praise Him and bow down before Him and offer to the Great I AM all that we are and all we will ever be.  We praise Him with our life and we give thanks. -- Rev.
