Daily Dose, June 12 — Summertime Fun

Summertime fun often carries us outdoors to play and enjoy the warmth of the sun. Sometimes the warmth becomes intense here in the south and we head inside to enjoy the air conditioning for a while and then head back out again.

We are not the only ones who need refreshment from the heat. The ground can become parched, the lawn dry, the flowers wilting, the air heavy and then comes a summer shower.

When my kids were little, every year we’d go to see their grandparents in Florida. We’d have a great time playing in their pool; everyday around 3 pm the sky would break open and it would pour for about 30 minutes. As fast as the storm rolled in, it would roll out and the sun would shine brightly once again.

God knows what we need. He knows what all of creation needs and He provides for our needs. It is just as Jesus said on the sermon on the Mount, “Therefore do not worry…” Matthew 6:31

Because of who God is, there is no need to be consumed with worries about your life. “What you will eat or what you will drink or about your body, what you will wear…” Matthew 6:25
Don’t worry, just as God brings the summer showers in just in the nick of time to bring relief from the long hot summer days, He will bring to you what you need.

Because that is true- Don’t worry… enjoy this day!
