Daily Dose, Journey to the Holy Spirit — April 20

So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and proclaimed the good news everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that accompanied it. Mark 16:19-20     Daily Dose: Journey to the Holy Spirit   Do you remember being at a pep rally in high school? Or have you been to a conference where, at least for a short time, you’re swept up in a desire to really change things, to really make something happen, to really make a difference? Did that energy always transfer to the team’s performance, either on the field or on the job? Maybe sometimes, but often not. The disciples had been swept up in a direct encounter with the risen Jesus, and now they had their mission. What would happen now? In this instance, the energy and power of Jesus DID transfer to the disciples’ performance! They went out and proclaimed the good news. They were faithful. In defeat, you sometimes hear a coach lament, “We didn’t stick to the game plan.” The disciples didn’t succumb to that! They stuck to the gameplay. Empowered and emboldened, they took up their new vocation as evangelists. They would take up the announcement of Mary: “I have seen the Lord!” Because of their faithfulness in carrying out the game plan, all of us have been invited onto the team. Who will join the team because of YOUR faithfulness? Rev. Brad Greene
