Daily Dose, Jan. 25 — Promises of God

God’s promises cut through so many of the things of this life that bring hard times, difficult circumstances and times when you just scratch your head and say “What?” In a world that often doesn’t make sense, God’s truths transcend the here and now. Our daily lives can, at times, seem to be hard to navigate through, but we hear from God promises that are meant for us. It is like he is looking directly at YOU and saying, “I have living water for YOU.” “I give YOU rest.” “My peace I give YOU.” “If You seek me, YOU will find me.” Each promise is spoken lovingly, tenderly to YOU! And now we add today’s promise. “We know that God works all things together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) He promises to take it all, the good, the less than good, even our pain, and work it together for the good. Have you ever wondered how He does it? That’s the mystery of God. What I have learned from people who love God, as they look back over the years of their life -- the good times, the less than good times, and even the pain -- is that God has worked in their lives -- in the midst of it all. What He offers us is a deeper assurance and understanding of the masterpiece He is creating in our lives, just as He promised! -- Rev. Terri Henkel
