“When they say the star, they were filled with joy. They entered the house and saw the child with Mary his mother.” Mt 2:10-11 -- “Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem- shining far though shadows dimmed. Giving the light for those who long have gone. Guiding the wise man on their way until the place where Jesus lay. Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem shine on….” Joy broke through that first Christmas morning; the promise of God had been fulfilled. The beautiful star of Bethlehem shone bold and bright guiding the wise men to the promised child. They traveled far to find the newborn king but every step of their journey was worth it. They were about to behold God’s own son. They knelt before the One who would bring salvation and laid at His feet their treasures. They followed the beautiful star of Bethlehem and it brought them to the greatest gift we have ever received and they were filled with JOY! Joy, has filled the hearts of many for generations as they have looking to the manger and beheld the promise of God. Joy as we remember that our God is a God of peace, of hope, of love and of joy! Every Advent we are reminded once again of who our God is, all He has done and all that lies ahead and we are filled with JOY! May we be as the Wiseman and follow where He leads… Rev. Terri Henkel
