What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of things that go bump in the night or more afraid of the creepy crawlies? I know people who are afraid of dogs, of snakes, of a multitude of animals. Some are afraid of doctors and shots. Some have fears that go deeper! Some are afraid to be alone. Others are afraid of not having enough- enough money, enough time, enough of whatever is cherished. Some are afraid of the test result that is due and some are afraid because the test result has come in and the news has been hard.
Let’s face it; the list could go on and on…. Did you know that in the bible “fear not” or “do not be afraid” is found 365 times? Do you know what else there is 365 of; there are 365 days in a year. Interesting that the bible says doesn’t fear 365 times and there just so happens to be 365 days in a year. Coincidence OR could there be a bigger plan? I would have to admit to thinking this is not a coincidence rather God knew what our world would be like. He knew the challenges we would face, and He knew the courage we would need sometimes to face what lay before us. He repeated over and over again “don’t be afraid” and “fear not.” NOT because our fears were silly or unfounded. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. John 14:27. Fear not, don’t be afraid because I have overcome this world. Don’t be afraid because I love you and whatever you face I am with you, I will never leave you, you are mine and I am yours and because that is true. Fear not!
