Fishers of Men

AFUMC’s Fishers of Men Ministry is a fishing fellowship that draws its name from Matthew 4:19:

“…and Jesus said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.”

Fishers of Men holds gatherings and conducts workshops that provide a wonderful opportunity to participate in the fine art of fly fishing while enjoying great fellowship and God’s creation. Fishers of Men activities are open to men, women, youth — anyone who loves fly fishing or wants to learn more about it.

Fly Tying and Fellowship

The Fishers of Men Ministry holds Fly Tying and Fellowship get-togethers on the first Friday every month. The workshop focuses on creating great flies for fishing for bass and bream. All materials are provided, and all necessary fly tying tools are available for use, if you don’t have your own and need some to use during the workshop.

Fly Fishing 101

Fishers of Men also regularly offers Fly Fishing 101, an introduction to fly fishing. Classes are typically held on two Friday evenings and a Saturday, and  may include a Sunday fishing trip. Dates for Fly Fishing 101 will be published as they are finalized. Get details and register by contacting Steve Hudson.
