Dress for Success

Next clothing drive:

May 8-14

The Morning Glory Circle of Alpharetta Methodist’s United Methodist Women, in conjunction with the St. James Methodist UMW, will collect professional men’s and women’s clothing accessories for Dress for Success and Attire for Hire. All clothing must be of current style, on hangers and cleaned and pressed (interview ready).

Dress for Success is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

You can help by donating the following items:

  • Interview appropriate suits (within two years old)
  • Interview appropriate blouses and shells (within two years old)
  • Skirts, pants, and jackets (within two years old)
  • Shoes: dress, dark colors (black, brown, navy, taupe)
  • Dresses: work-appropriate (no formal or evening wear)
  • Dressy-casual outfits (conservative two-piece set)
  • Jewelry and scarves
  • Pantyhose: new and unopened
  • Portfolios to be used for resumes
  • Briefcases or work appropriate handbag)

Dress for Success has asked that you provide your best 2 to 3 interview appropriate outfits as they have limited space.  Please consider attaching $10 to the lapel of a jacket to help provide for their programs, such as Professional Women’s Group and Going Places Strong, along with resources like a computer lab.

Attire to Hire has served more than 3,400 job seekers at the Roswell UMC Job Networking seminars since its inception in 2011. The following men’s items will be accepted for this organization:

  • Suits or dark sport coats, especially navy blazers
  • Dress shirts (all sizes)
  • Ties and men’s belts
  • Dress shoes that are gently worn

You will find directions for tax credit when you bring your donations.

Please drop off items only on the dates of the clothing drive, as clothing cannot be stored at the church.
