Wisdom in the Christian Tradition

Wednesdays, Aug. 21-Oct. 23
7-8 p.m., Rm. 224

What does the Bible, particularly the books of Proverbs, Job, and Ecclesiastes, have to say about the good life? Does obeying God guarantee that life will be a bed of roses? Do evil doers always get their just desserts? Do we live in an ordered and purposeful world, or is life “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”? This class will trace how the wisdom tradition of the Bible responds to these and other pressing questions, and how we might apply biblical wisdom to the choices and decisions we make today.

Led by Michael Turner.
