Children of Eden

Sunday, Sept. 1

The Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville is performing the musical “Children of Eden,” based on the first 9½ chapters of Genesis.  With music from Tony Award winner Stephen Schwartz, creator of “Wicked” and “Pippin”, the musical encompasses the story of creation as well as the great flood, but also examines the complex love between parents and children through the generations.  First, the Father (God) with Adam and Eve, then Adam and Eve with their sons Cain and Abel, and finally Noah and his family.  The real heartbeat of this show centers on family and the tension between the want of a parent and the will of a child.

We’ll meet after the 11:00 worship services in the Connections Café (2nd floor) for a Jason’s Deli box lunch. By 1 p.m., we’ll take the church buses to the matinee performance, which begins at 2:30 p.m. We’ll return to the church at approximately 6 p.m.

$42 includes your ticket and lunch.
