Alpharetta First United Methodist Church sponsors the following scouting groups.

Boy Scout Troop 69

Founded in 1981, Troop 69 consists of approximately 175 boys. The members of Troop 69 come from a varied cross-section of the Alpharetta community, including middle and high schools in the Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek and Cumming.

The Troop meets on Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the AFUMC’s Methodist Youth Center.

Cub Scout Pack 459

Pack 459 is comprised of approximately 80 Scouts and 20 adult volunteer leaders, committed to helping teach young men character, values, responsibility, life skills and citizenship. Scouts typically attend Summit Hill Elementary, Crabapple Crossing and area private schools.

The Pack was chartered by Alpharetta Methodist, and holds monthly meetings on the church campus.

Scout Venture Crew 83

Venture Crew 83 is a Boy Scouts of America program for male and female youth, ages 14 to 20. Venture Crew meets on the first Sunday of each month in room MS109, under the Vinebranch Chapel. Participants go on one event each month. Typical outings may involve motor boating, hiking, camping, caving, canoeing, backpacking or social events.

Venture Crew’s objective is have fun and to go outside and contribute to the community. No scouting or camping experience is needed.
