Student Service Opportunities

Wednesday Night Supper

Wednesdays (September-April)
5:30-6:30 p.m.

Can you carry a tray of food or a drink? We have opportunities for students to lend a helping hand to moms with toddlers, senior adults and others, by helping them get to tables and situated. This volunteer role is simply acting as an extra set of hands for folks who need it. There is no food prep required; just hands and a smile. Work out a schedule or just show up — it’s up to you. After supper, attend Digging Deeper — our all-grade-level Bible study from 6:45 to 8 p.m.

Usher/Greet for the Bridge Worship Service

Sundays, 9:15-10:30 a.m.

We need warm, friendly faces to help greet and usher during our newest worship service. The Bridge is attended by many people who are new to Alpharetta Methodist. This is a great way to represent Student Ministry in the larger church body. This commitment is a rotation, so you don’t have to miss Thirst every week.

Usher/Greet for the Vinebranch Worship Service

Sundays, 10:45 a.m.- 12 p.m.

Vinebranch is our contemporary worship service, and we need Student Ministry to represent. This is the service you most commonly attend, so it’s a great opportunity to serve the Alpharetta Methodist church body. All that’s required is a smiling face and a warm heart. This commitment is on a flexible rotation, but you’re here anyway, so why not invest?

Acolyte for the Traditional Worship Service

Sundays, 10:45 a.m.-12 p.m.

Our 11 a.m. traditional worship service is one of the best around, and students can play a major role in one of the oldest traditions in the church. Acolytes light and extinguish the candles on the communion table, a symbolic reminder since ancient times that God is present during worship. They also assist with baptisms. There is some training required.
