Landstuhl Hospital in Germany is a permanent U.S. Military installation located in the German State of Rheinland-Pfalz. The Landstuhl hospital is for service members with serious injuries or illness requiring surgery and hospitalization. Up to 50 soldiers are hospitalized at any given time and the average stay is under a week before being stabilized and sent on to a military hospital in the US or transitioned to the outpatient barracks, where up to 100 outpatients may stay 7-14 days before being flown home to the US or back to Iraq, Kuwait, or Afghanistan.

Alpharetta Methodist supports these soldiers who have been wounded in service by sending regular care packages. Items we currently need include

  • magazines (Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, etc.)
  • paperback books (used or new)
  • small exercise items (hand balls to squeeze)
  • CD's and DVD's
  •
Drop boxes are on the second floor bridge of the Trinity Building. Click here to read more about his important ministry.

    Dear Ms. Caverly,

I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for your kindness and the donations that you have made to the Chaplain's Closet here at Landstuhl Redional Medical Center.

I arrived here after being evacuated from Iraq, and I literally had nothing, not even any underwear or hygiene items. I had only a hospital gown. Although you quietly donate to the Chaplains Closet and this organization, I want to let you know how you have made a huge difference in this soldier's life. You are truly an angel and will always remain in my thoughts and, more specifically, my prayers. This has been quiet a challenging experience for me. I am awaiting medical decisions as to whether I will return back to Iraq (which I really want to do) to complete my tour or whether I will be sent back to the United States for further medical tests and treatment.

When I talk with my soldiers, they continue to encourage me and have verbalized their desire for me to rejoin them. They are so supportive! I miss their support.

Thank you for your kindness, support and donations. They have made an everlasting impression on this soldier.

           Respectfully,
