Mission Trip to Mozambique

September 28-October 8, 2012
Departing Atlanta on Friday evening, September 28, and returning early Monday morning, October 8.

Co-leaders Mike and Melody Vanderhoff will take a team of 6 to 8 additional people to Maputo, Mozambique, Africa. Work will include light construction work, leading Vacation Bible School and overseeing the drilling of 2 wells.

New Hope In Africa is a newly-formed, Christian-based nonprofit organization. Mike and Melody Vanderhoff formed this organization to initially work in Mozambique and will branch out to other countries in Africa when the opportunity arises. The organization's goals are to provide safe, clean drinking water to the people of Mozambique, by drilling wells or rehabbing existing wells.

The initial plan is to first provide the water, then plant a church and a school. New Hope In Africa has a non-government organization partner in Mozambique, New Hope Association. This organization was formed by Dr. Zefanias Chihulume, a native of Mozambique. Zef was educated in the United States and could find no higher calling than to serve people in need in his home country. Zef serves on the board of directors of New Hope In Africa.
