Knot for Profit

The Knot for Profit crochet and knit ministry meets on the second Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon in the Bagley House at AFUMC. For details, contact: Crisanne Triplett. The ministry's current project is the "Warm Up America" Project (WUA).

Our spring and summer project will be crocheting and knitting 7" x 9" rectangles to be joined to create afghans. The rectangles can be of any color, any yarn, any weight and any design. They are a great carry-around project as well.  We will collect the blocks and assemble them into afghans toward the fall.

WUA afghans are distributed to individuals and families in need through community service organizations as well as through chapters of national organizations such as the American Red Cross. Agencies to which the Foundation has donated afghans include:
  • Women's shelters
  • Nursing homes
  • Children's hospitals
  • Hospitals and hospices
  • Daycare centers
  • Veterans' homes
  • Churches
  • AIDS facilities
  • Homeless shelters
  • American Red Cross chapters
