The job transition ministry is designed to help those who are in job transition, whether they are unemployed or currently employed. We meet the third Thursday of every month in the Methodist Youth Center large room. The meeting begins at 6:30 pm and includes free resume reviews, networking, guest speaker and an industry guide program. All are welcome, you do not have to be a member of the church to attend. The program is free.

This month’s topic is "Standing Out in the Crowded Job Market,” with Roger Haggerty, career architect and author of “Hire Me, A Practical Guide for Job Seekers.” Learn about creating tailored resumes, matching the four common denominators between the hiring party and the candidate, acing the interview, focused networking and more.
Haggerty has more than 30 years of operating, finance and accounting experience, including seven years in the audit practice of KPMG Peat, Marwick. In addition to his strong retail, distribution and services background, Mr. Haggerty spent seven years working with technology, internet and software companies, focusing on improving operating results, installing permanent cash flow solutions and obtaining financing to fund operations and growth. He enjoys working directly with CEOs of privately-held companies and helping them achieve their goals.
Haggerty has led numerous turnaround and improvement initiatives that focused on expense reduction, downsizing, improving financial reporting systems, productivity improvements, debt restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and strategic and tactical planning. He has served as managing director at TBL Associates; chief financial officer of Solomon Bros. Ltd. and Domain, Inc.; and vice president, controller and treasurer of Thom McAn.
Haggerty graduated from Babson College. As a Navy officer, he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for meritorious service in Vietnamese waters.
