Fishers of Men
“…and Jesus said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.”
Fishers of Men holds gatherings and conducts workshops that provide a wonderful opportunity to participate in the fine art of fly fishing while enjoying great fellowship and God’s creation. Fishers of Men activities are open to men, women, youth — anyone who loves fly fishing or wants to learn more about it.
Fly Tying and Fellowship
The Fishers of Men Ministry holds Fly Tying and Fellowship get-togethers on the first Friday every month. The next Fly Tying and Fellowship get-together is:
Friday, September 11
Free. Donations will accepted to help cover the cost of supplies.
The fly fishing workshop focuses on creating great flies for fishing for bass and bream. All materials are provided, and all necessary fly tying tools are available for use, if you don’t have your own and need some to use during the workshop.
For more details and to register, contact Steve Hudson, 770-329-7642.
Fly Fishing 101
Fishers of Men also regularly offers Fly Fishing 101, an introduction to fly fishing. Classes are typically held on two Friday evenings and a Saturday, and may include a Sunday fishing trip. Dates for Fly Fishing 101 will be published as they are finalized.
More fly fishing instruction and outings
Fishers of Men periodically offers:
- A full-scale fly tying course (typically three or four sessions)
- Day trip fly fishing and fellowship outings
- A parent-child Learn About Fishing Day, a fun day of instruction about not just fly fishing, but fishing in general
