Special Needs Assistant

Alpharetta First United Methodist Church is seeking a Special Needs Assistant for Sunday mornings (9:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.) to assist our Special Needs Coordinator in a children’s and youth ministry setting.

Job duties: Physically assisting students with tasks, behavior monitoring, diaper changing and adapting Sunday School lessons in a way in a way that allows the child/youth to successfully participate.

Requirements: A general understanding of children and youth with special needs and their diagnoses along with behavioral interventions. Extensive knowledge and work experience in the special needs field is required. A bachelor’s degree in education and/or the special needs field is preferred.

Custodian — Full-time

Janitorial professional needed. Must have experience working in a custodial position. Ideal candidate has worked in a school or church setting. You must pass an extensive background and drug test. ZERO Tolerance employer. You will be working around children, staff and volunteers.

40+ hours a week. We offer benefits which include health, dental, vision and life insurance. Job is located in downtown Alpharetta, on the bus line.

Job Requirements: Must be able to stay on task and complete work assigned. Must be able to work independently. Must be responsible and punctual. Must be able to get to work on time. Must be willing to work holidays, evenings, and weekends upon request. Must be willing to work overtime. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time, go up and down stairwells. Must be energetic and enthusiastic. Must be polite and courteous, respectful of the building and members, visitors and guests. Must have knowledge of cleaning products and proficiency in using cleaning equipment.
