Full Time Director of Student Ministries

Alpharetta First United Methodist Church is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader for ministries to students in middle school, high school and college, and their families. We are a vibrant family of faith (1,400+ average weekly attendance) located in a fast-growing northern suburb of Atlanta. The student ministry staff is comprised of the Director of Student Ministries and a full-time Director of Middle School Ministries, dedicated adult volunteers, and 75+ active students.

Requirements: Solid relationship with Christ and His church. Commitment to a career in student ministry. History of building strong teams of adult volunteers and mentors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding leadership and organizational skills. Energetic, flexible and team-player spirit. Clear understanding and belief in Wesleyan Theology. Willingness to live in Alpharetta or surrounding community. 5-10 years of experience working in large church (over 1,000 attendance)

Part-time Mother’s Morning Out Teacher

The Mothers’ Morning Out program of Alpharetta First United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time 29-36 months (young 3’s) teacher (8:30am-1:15pm). This position is a co-teaching position. The position will be responsible for the care of children ages 29 months through 36 months in a loving, Christ centered, learning environment.  Each teacher is challenged to show Christ’s love, to the young child through words and actions. Care will include but not be limited to changing of diapers and taking care of children’s bathroom needs.

Requirements: Respect confidentiality of the MMO staff and the MMO children and their families. Maintain a smooth running, organized classroom. Communicate effectively with parents each day.Each teacher is required to keep a 1st aid, CPR and AED certificate active. Each perspective teacher is required to pass a background check and drug test.

Full-time Associate Director of Children’s Ministries

Alpharetta First United Methodist Church is seeking a Full-time Associate Director of Children’s Ministries-Elementary and Preteen Coordinator.  The candidate will focus on coordinating Elementary Sunday School and will take the lead on Club 45, our Preteen Ministry to fourth and fifth grade students.  Other responsibilities include: Assisting in Children’s Worship, Wednesday evening children’s programming, working with the Children’s Ministries staff to plan seasonal events and Vacation Bible School, and recruiting volunteers.

Requirements: Four-year college degree in Religious Studies, Christian Education or related field. Desired: Two or more years of Children’s Ministries experience in a church setting.

Special Needs Assistant

Alpharetta First United Methodist Church is seeking a Special Needs Assistant for Sunday mornings (9:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.) to assist our Special Needs Coordinator in a children’s and youth ministry setting.

Job duties: Physically assisting students with tasks, behavior monitoring, diaper changing and adapting Sunday School lessons in a way in a way that allows the child/youth to successfully participate.

Requirements: A general understanding of children and youth with special needs and their diagnoses along with behavioral interventions. Extensive knowledge and work experience in the special needs field is required. A bachelor’s degree in education and/or the special needs field is preferred.

Custodian — Full-time

Janitorial professional needed. Must have experience working in a custodial position. Ideal candidate has worked in a school or church setting. You must pass an extensive background and drug test. ZERO Tolerance employer. You will be working around children, staff and volunteers.

40+ hours a week. We offer benefits which include health, dental, vision and life insurance. Job is located in downtown Alpharetta, on the bus line.

Job Requirements: Must be able to stay on task and complete work assigned. Must be able to work independently. Must be responsible and punctual. Must be able to get to work on time. Must be willing to work holidays, evenings, and weekends upon request. Must be willing to work overtime. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time, go up and down stairwells. Must be energetic and enthusiastic. Must be polite and courteous, respectful of the building and members, visitors and guests. Must have knowledge of cleaning products and proficiency in using cleaning equipment.
