Dr. Don Martin, Senior Pastor
|
I grew up in the northeast Atlanta community of Chamblee, Georgia. I’ve seen the metro area grow from less than half a million to the 6 million people that call this Peach of a city their home. My journey in education began in the DeKalb County School System and led me to Mercer University, Emory University, and the University of Chicago. I love sports – especially College ball – hunting and fishing and would rather hit a golf ball than eat.
Lisa and I married in 1981. She is bright and beautiful and a devoted mother. She is a Registered Nurse at the Rockdale Medical Center in the NICU. She enjoys running and working in the yard, is active in our Youth Ministries, and loves the Facebook world and photography. She puts up with me. We have two sons. Taylor is a senior at UGA in the Terry School of Business. He loves music and guitar and plays in a Praise Band in Athens. Aaron is a sophomore at Auburn University. He is on the Rugby Team and is a golfer.
Christ and the church became everything to me when I was a teenager. Living with our faces turned toward God and our ears open to the Lord Jesus is what the Christian life is all about to me. I invite you to join the Alpharetta First United Methodist Church for lively worship, meaningful service, and real friendship. You will be assured of God’s forgiving love and challenged to put your faith into action.
Ya'll Come,

Don Martin
